Summary
Corte 1D is a private-alpha web application for metal workshops, in production with one alpha user. 1DNest is a more mature commercial 1D cutting optimisation product with free versions and paid licences published by its provider. They are not equivalent in maturity or availability.
This comparison preserves the 1DNest information checked on its official page on 21 August 2026. It does not extrapolate capabilities or update competitor facts without a new check of the primary source.
Capability table
The table separates documented information from what has not been verified. A feature missing from the consulted source is not proof that the product lacks it.
| Aspect | Corte 1D | 1DNest |
|---|---|---|
| Format | Web application for an office ↔ workshop flow. | Commercial desktop application. |
| Material | Bars, profiles and tubes; linear 1D optimisation. | Profiles, bars, beams and tubes according to the official description. |
| Input and output | CSV/XLSX, reviewable plans, PDF and workshop order. | Import and configurable reports depending on edition. |
| Mitres | Angle-aware engine for supported compatibilities; physical validation required. | An equivalent mitre-matching feature was not verified in the official source consulted. |
| Maturity | Private production alpha with one alpha user. | Commercial product with a trial and published editions. |
| Price | Not published. | The official page publishes a 30-day trial and paid licences. |
Practical reading
1DNest is the more mature reference when a desktop application with a known price, support and commercial history is required. Corte 1D adds a web flow and explicit handling of mitre matching, but should not yet be presented as a complete replacement or the more mature product.
There is no public basis for promising that Corte 1D saves more material. A useful evaluation should compare the same cut list, stock and constraints and physically check the result before production.
